JILL HÖJEBERG

Jill Höjeberg was born in the USA and attended George Washington University in conjunction with Corcoran School of Art from 1967-71 and the Art Students League of New York, USA from 1993-96. She now lives in Stockholm, Sweden and enjoys working often in Italy. Her favourite materials are marble from Carrara or alabaster from Volterra, but you can also find sculptures in bronze, metal and glass among her artworks.

...I try to make this hard material give a feeling of soft elasticity. The stone should feel as if it is bent and flowing, not polished and carved. In other sculptures, I try to convey a sense of energy and power.... Jill Höjeberg about her work
