5 Things You Must Do in October
October brings us crisp mountain air, vibrant colors, and a wealth of special moments. Whether it's culture, culinary delights, or nature – now is the perfect time to explore Innsbruck and the Hall-Wattens region.
Here are my top 5 highlights for October:

Evening Rides at Patscherkofel – Sunset Over Innsbruck
Every Thursday, the Patscherkofel cable car runs until 11:00 PM. Once at the top, you'll be treated to a stunning view of Innsbruck glowing in the evening lights and an unforgettable sunset. With cozy mountain huts nearby, it’s the perfect way to wind down the day.
Cultural Highlights: Long Night of Museums & Haller Nightseeing
October 4 – Long Night of Museums: Over 700 museums, galleries, and cultural institutions across Austria open their doors late into the night. Innsbruck is, of course, part of it – a great opportunity to experience art and culture in a unique way.
October 24 – Haller Nightseeing: The old town of Hall transforms into a charming shopping and experience zone. During this long shopping night, many stores invite you to browse at your leisure – accompanied by music, culinary delights, and plenty of atmosphere.
Harvest Festival at the Hall Farmers’ Market (October 18)
Regional, authentic, and full of flavor: At the traditional harvest festival on Hall’s Upper Town Square, local farmers present their finest products. From Tyrolean specialties to handmade treats – here, you can experience autumn with all your senses.

Hiking Highlights: Walderalm & Zirbenweg
Walderalm: Located above Gnadenwald, this idyllic alpine pasture glows in golden light during October. It’s an easy but stunning hike with sweeping views of the Karwendel mountains.
Zirbenweg: Stretching between Patscherkofel and Glungezer, this is one of Tyrol’s most beautiful high-altitude trails. In autumn, the Zirbenweg is particularly spectacular – with panoramic views of the Inn Valley and the rich colors of larch and pine forests.
Culinary Traditions at the Nordkette Autumn Delights Festival
Until mid-October, the Nordkette is home to a charming celebration of Tyrolean cuisine. Local specialties, traditional crafts, music, and panoramic views over Innsbruck make this the perfect autumn outing. A beautiful blend of nature, food, and mountain vibes.
